Possibilités de bénévolat

HC-Hero-volunteer

Gail Issenman is a perfect example of what cancer survivorship is all about! Thank you, Gail, for giving back and giving hope.

Download her original song - a great addition to your playlist!Gail Issenman was a loving mother of three young children, enjoying a thriving, successful career as a singer and vocal coach when she was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour.

After undergoing surgery to prepare her for radiation treatments that would stop the tumour’s growth, pressure changes in her head made it that singing could have negative if not life-threatening consequences. Exercise was also off limits, with the exception of the recumbent bicycle, which is why Gail was referred to the Hope & Cope Wellness Centre, where she exercised in the Centre’s gym under the watchful eyes of staff and trained volunteers. The Centre became more than just a place to keep active – it became her second home, where she found a community of cancer survivors who understood and supported each other.

After her recovery, Gail was determined to give back the best way she knew how – by recording an original song called "Love Yourself", along with an upbeat video shot at the Wellness Centre and in her N.D.G. neighbourhood. “This was my way to feel normal again. Everyone who participated in the video had such a great time.”

All proceeds from streams and downloads will benefit Hope & Cope. 👇
